Wooster, OH – The Yeomen's woes continued Wednesday night as the men's basketball team fell to Wooster on the Fighting Scots' home court, 69-63. The loss moves the Yeomen to 5-12 on the season and 3-8 in NCAC action.
Oberlin's
Asaan Snipes-Rea got the Yeomen off to a good start, driving to the rim off a fast-break to put Oberlin on the board. The Yeomen and the Fighting Scots battled back-and-forth until a 6-0 run midway through the first half gave Oberlin the largest lead thus far. Wolf Moser kept the Crimson and Gold in the game ahead of the two-minute mark. Down 34-28, sophomore wing
Dimitrije Radusinovic took a shot from behind the arc to bring the score within three. In the final second of action,
Yuuki Okubo drove to the rim to put up Oberlin's final points of the half and send the teams to the locker rooms with Wooster ahead 34-33.
Oberlin came out fast in the second half of action as
Dorde Otasevic hit a jumper right before Moser drilled a three-pointer, giving the Yeomen a 38-34 lead. Keeping their distance ahead of the home team, the visitors had a lead by as much as 12 before the Fighting Scots mounted their comeback. The Wooster defense locked down in the final minutes of the game, blanking the Yeomen for over six minutes. The Fighting Scots tied the game at 63-63 at the 1:12 mark, tallying another six points before the horn for a final score of 69-63.
The Yeomen have lost five-straight tests but look to break bad habits as they hit the court again on Saturday, January 29 to host the Wittenberg Tigers. Tip-off is set for 3pm with live stream available
