Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's tennis team made short work of the visiting Allegheny College Gators, cruising to a 9-0 victory on Senior Day for
Elliot Nuss.
Nuss was a double winner as he and
Sean Billerbeck dispatched Julien Voisey and Benny Gantrish 8-2 in the top doubles flight. The Portland, Oregon, native would then set aside Voisey 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
James Dill and
Ben Echikson were 8-3 victors over Terrell Riddick and David Salazar II at No. 2 doubles.
Sam Topper and
Rohan Gold did not surrender a game at No. 2 and No. 3 singles as they breezed by Gantrish and Salazar II, respectively.
Echikson took care of Riddick 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 and while
Nathan Englehart earned a three-set victory over Aden Salim, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the fifth position.
The victory marked the first of the season for the Yeomen as they are now 1-5 on the year.
Oberlin will concluded its abbreviated 2021 campaign on Saturday against The College of Wooster.
