Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Little Giants Squeak by Yeomen

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's basketball team took to the floor for the first time since December 11, dropping a tight 75-74 decision to the Wabash College Little Giants on Thursday afternoon at Philips Gym.

Free throws proved to be the difference in the game as Oberlin made just six of their 13 charity tosses while the Little Giants cashed in 19 of the 23 attempts they hoisted for an 82.6 percent success rate compared to just 46.2 percent for the Yeomen.

Dimitrije Radusinovic led the Yeomen in scoring with 16 points off the bench, while matching Yuuki Okubo with a team-high four assists. The Podgorica, Montenegro, native also led Oberlin with eight rebounds.

Senior Wolf Moser dropped in 15 points to accompany his seven boards and Anastasis Spyroglou chipped in 10 points in 22 minutes of reserve action.

The Yeomen's lone lead of the game came on Moser's opening shot of the contest but the Yeomen stayed within striking distance throughout and nearly came away with their second come-from-behind win against Wabash this season.

With just over seven minutes to play the Yeomen trailed 67-56, but a 10-1 run that featured six points from Spyroglou had the margin down to 68-66 with 4:01 left to expire. A corner 3-ball from Darien Knowles later made it just a one-point game at 70-69 but clutch free throw shooting from Jack Davidson and a few empty possessions for the Yeomen allowed the Little Giants to escape town with the win.

Davidson led all scorers with 25 points to go along with 13 points and four assists for Wabash who shot just 35.9 percent (23-of-64) in the win. Oberlin, which had a 46-26 advantage in points in the paint, shot 49.2 percent (31-of-63) in the setback but alas the free throw discrepancy was too much to overcome.

The victory marked the fifth straight for the Little Giants as they improved to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the NCAC while the Yeomen dropped back to 4-6 and 2-3 in league action.

Oberlin is currently scheduled to return to action on Monday, January 3 at Wittenberg but may add an additional game prior to that contest. Please check goyeo.com for the latest information.
