New Concord, Ohio – Two days after a tough season-opening loss at Baldwin Wallace, the Oberlin College women's lacrosse team bounced back in commanding fashion by dismantling the Muskingum University Muskies, 20-2, on Saturday afternoon.
The Yeowomen took out their frustrations on the Muskies, pouring in 15 first-half goals and never looking back as the final outcome was never in question. A total eight Yeowomen scored on the day with sophomore
Tess Siciliano leading the way with a career-high five goals, all of which came in the first half. Senior
Sabrina Deleonibus matched Siciliano by tying her career-high with five goals.

Leah Crowther netted a hat trick with three goals, while newcomers
Bette Imhoff and
Juliet Mooney each scored two times with Mooney adding four assists. Senior
Hayley Drapkin was the top distributor with five helpers to run her career account to 70 assists.
Oberlin scored the first eight goals of the game within the first six minutes before the Muskies finally got on the board on a finish from Dani Crisp. The Yeowomen would tack on seven more tallies throughout the remaining 22 minutes of the half to carry a 14-point lead into the intermission.
In the second half the Yeowomen slowed down the scoring pace but still went on to add five more goals in the victory.
The Yeowomen finished with a 32-5 advantage in shots, including a 25-4 margin in shots on goal. Oberlin also had a 19-5 edge in draw controls and won the ground ball battle 10-8 while going a perfect 8-of-8 on clears. Deleonibus led OC on the draw, winning five possessions, while Drapkin scooped up a team-high four ground balls.

Siena Marcelle working in the first half and making one save. Sophomore
Maranda Phillips and first-year
Logan McDermott-Mostowy split time in the second half.
