Greencastle, IN – The Oberlin College women's lacrosse team earned a commanding 20-3 victory at DePauw University on Saturday afternoon.
The Yeowomen reached the 20-goal mark for the second straight game and have posted 19 or more goals in the last four contests as they moved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the NCAC.
Six different Yeowomen scored multiple goals in the game with the senior duo of
Natalie Rauchle and
Sydney Garvis leading the way with four each.
Hayley Drapkin and first-years
Tess Siciliano and
Leah Crowther each scored three, while
Sabrina Deleonibus added a pair of goals.
The Yeowomen led 7-0 before the Tigers got on the board, but the Oberlin offense could not be contained by the Tigers as Oberlin carried a 15-2 lead into the intermission.
With the final outcome never in doubt, the second half featured just six goals, with five coming courtesy of the Yeowomen.
Eliza Amber added her 21
st goal of the season to complete the grouping of Oberlin scorers in the game.
Oberlin ended with a 38-7 margin in shots, including a 28-6 mark in shots on goal. The Yeowomen were successful on 12-of-15 clears and won 21 of the game's 25 draw controls. OC also finished with a 36-9 margin in ground balls.
Rauchle (9) and Garvis (7) accounted for 16 draw controls, while
Emily Berner matched Rauchle with a team-high six ground balls.
Siena Marcelle was rarely challenged in goal but did make three saves.
Oberlin, which has outscored its opponents 81-26 over its last four victories, returns home to host Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
