Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's basketball team earned a, 57-52, win over the visiting Hiram College Terriers on Tuesday night at Philips Gym.

Tyler Parlor also recorded her first double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 boards. Sophomore guard
Ally Driscoll rounded out Oberlin's double-digit point producers with 13 points to accompany her six rebounds. She has now scored in double-figures in all three games this season.
Hiram got off to a quick start, opening up an 8-2 lead, but a 10-0 Yeowomen response run was capped off with a layup from the right block by
Jasmine Sorrells to make it 12-8 with 3:23 left in the opening quarter. However, they would go scoreless for the rest of the frame as Hiram held a 16-12 cushion after one period.
The second quarter was closely contested a no more than four points separated the two sides. A traditional 3-point play by Parlor put Oberlin out in front 21-18 at the 8:10 mark. Oberlin later led 24-22, but Hiram closed the half with a mini 7-2 spurt to take a 29-26 lead into the locker room.
It would remain tight throughout the third quarter as an Amanda Holzman layup would tie the game for the eighth and final time at 36-36 with 2:53 to play in the frame. However, Oberlin would finish the session on a 10-2 run to take a 46-38 cushion into the fourth quarter.
A 17-foot jumper from the top of the key by
Abby Andrews increased the Yeowomen lead to 12, 50-38, with 8:08 to go. Oberlin held its largest lead of the game at 55-42 with 3:21 left to expire, but Hiram was able to fight back to within seven with 47 seconds to play. However, the final outcome was never in doubt.
Oberlin shot just 31.7 percent (19-of-60) from the floor but was able to make up for it by cashing in 17-of-20 charity tosses for an 85 percent success rate. Hiram, who was paced by a game-high 16 points from Allison Vannoy, checked in at 33.3 percent (22-of-66) shooting.
With the win, the Yeowomen moved to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the NCAC. Hiram fell back to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league action.
The Yeowomen have an extremely short turnaround as they head west to take on No. 8 Trine tomorrow night at 8 p.m. in Angola, Indiana.
