New Wilmington, PA – In the final regular season matches of the season, the Oberlin College volleyball team split a pair of matches on the campus of Westminster. The Yeowomen topped Waynesburg in four sets, but would later fall in three sets to the host Titans.
The Yeowomen beat the Yellow Jackets by the scores of 25-13, 25-7, 20-25, and 25-18, but would fall to Westminster 23-25, 22-25, 19-25.

th win of the year in commanding fashion.
Head Coach
Erica Rau used her entire roster in the victory with sophomore
Maura Gibbs accounting for a fourth of the team's 40 kills with 10 finishes on 23 swings. Classmate
Lexi Mitchell chipped in with seven finishes, while senior
Dana Thomas added six.
Sara Chang (19) and
Samantha Lam (14 ) split the setting duties as they combined for 33 assists. Chang also added six block assists as the Yeowomen totaled nine denials as a team in the triumph.
Emily Kelkar led the Yeowomen with 17 digs, while Gibbs added 13 to the team total of 55.
In the opening set, Oberlin broke open a 5-4 match with a 15-5 run to go up 20-9.
After an easy second-set win, Oberlin had a hiccup in the third set, but regrouped in the fourth set for the win.
Westminster Recap
The Yeowomen offense was led by
Lexi Mitchell as she led the team with 10 kills.
Sara Chang orchestrated the offense as she tallied a team-high 17 assists.
On the other side of the net,
Maura Gibbs and
Samantha Lam each recorded double-digit digs. Gibbs led the team with 14 and Lam ended the match with 10.
In the first set, the Yeowomen trailed the first half, but would tie the game up at 22 with a
Jaya Flynn-Young kill and take a 23-22 lead when Mitchell earned a kill. Westminster would take the final three points to win the opening game.
After the second game was tied on two occasions early, the Titans would lead the rest of the set as Westminster claimed a 2-0 advantage heading into the third set.
In the final stanza, Westminster would lead the entire set as Oberlin never threatened the final outcome.
The Yeowomen will open the conference tournament at Wittenberg University on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Oberlin, which is seeded eighth, will take on fifth-seeded Kenyon.
