Series Information …
In a match-up that dates back to 1892, the Yeomen trail the all-time series, 20-54-1 … 1892 was the Yeomen's first undefeated season under John W. Heisman, as Oberlin shutout Ohio Wesleyan 56-0 … The Yeomen's last victory in the series came in 2010 with a 16-12 win.

Last Time Against the Battling Bishops …
In last season's 29-16 loss in Oberlin, the Yeomen led 16-14 with 5:49 left in the third, but a quick response by the Bishops put them out in front for good and ultimately left a large homecoming crowd with a disappointed feeling … Robby Reinheimer had eight catches for 77 yards, while Jubreel Hason led the defense with 12 tackles.

Scouting the Bishops …
OWU has been a little Jekyll and Hyde this season as it enters Saturday's contest with a record of 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC … The Bishops, who have gone 2-2 over their last four games, are coming off a 31-20 home loss to Denison as the Big Red rallied from 20-7 down in the third quarter …  Unlike last week's opponent – Wabash –  the Bishops try to do the bulk of their work through the air … Senior quarterback Brian Berry is fourth in the NCAC in passing at 245.3 yards per game and has thrown 15 touchdowns on the year … Classmate Hunter Baker is his top target at 81 yards per game to go along with six touchdowns … Defensively, OWU is allowing 27.3 points and 435.7 yards per game … The Bishops are last in the conference in time possession at just 23:47 per contest.

A Record for Walker …
Freshman punter Bryant Walker had a career day for the Yeomen last, setting a single-game school record for punting average at 52.9 yards per kick … Walker, who was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week for his efforts, totaled 423 yards on eight attempts … He placed three of his eight punts inside the 5-yard line and had five inside the 20-yard line … Walker is now leading the NCAC with an average of 40.3 yards per punt.

Trending Upward …
Sophomore quarterback Zach Taylor is coming off back-to-back solid performances … After being held under 220 yards passing in each of his first four games, Taylor has bounced back in a big way as he threw for a season-high 350 yards against Wooster before tossing for 251 yards last week against Wabash … Over the last two weeks he is 36-of-61 (59%) passing and has accounted for six total touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing).

Covering Up …
Oberlin's kick coverage units have been strong this season … The Yeomen's kickoff coverage team is netting 40.8 yards per attempt, which is third best in the NCAC behind only Wabash (42.3) and Ohio Wesleyan (41.6) … OC is also netting 34 yards per punt, which is fourth best in the league.

Easy as 1-2-3 …
Oberlin's wide receiver trio of Ryan Gleeson, Corey Fussinger, and Robby Reinheimer has been impressive this fall … Together they have accounted for 1,260 of the team's 1,494 receiving yards and have scored nine of the Yeomen's 10 receiving touchdowns.

Laying the Wood …
Sophomore linebacker Von Wooding is only one of three players in the NCAC who is averaging 10 or more tackles per game … On the season, Wooding has made 70 total tackles … If he can keep pace over the final three games, Wooding would be the first Yeomen defender to have 100 tackles in a season since Chase Palmer made 103 stops in 2007.

Second-Quarter Struggles …
Oberlin has had no trouble getting off to quick starts having outscored their opponents 38-31 in the first quarter … However, the Yeomen have seen games slip away in the second quarter as opponents have outscored them 66-24 in the period … It is an area they will need to clean up over the final three games of the season.
