Greencastle, IN – The Oberlin College field hockey team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of the DePauw University Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
In the teams' first meeting of the season in Oberlin on September 23, the Tigers had to go to overtime to defeat the Yeowomen, 2-1. Today was a much different story as they scored early and often.
DePauw netted five first-half goals and added four more over the final 35-minute period en route to notching its largest point total of the season. Eight different players accounted for the nine goals in the win.
Oberlin triggered four shots in the match, but none were on goal. The Tigers put 20 of their 34 shots on frame with Oberlin's
Kennedy Kline turning away 11 of them.
The Yeowomen are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they conclude their Indiana swing with a 12 p.m. tilt at Earlham College.
