Dylan Rogers and junior
Monique Newton were named as North Coast Athletic Conference athletes of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
A native of Carpentersville, Illinois, Rogers earned Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week honors, while for the second straight week Newton was named as the women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Rogers had a strong showing at the Kent State Golden Gala, placing 10th in the 400-meter run (50.95) and also running the anchor leg on the 10th-place 4x400 meter relay unit that finished in 3:30.37.
Newton reset her on school record in the shot put with a nation-leading throw of 49-09.25, which is the farthest of any Division III female in three season and ninth farthest all-time.
Newton finished fourth overall in the event behind two throwers from Division I Bowling Green and one from Division II Ashland.
The Oberlin College track and field teams return to action on January 13.
