Yeowomen Conclude Spring Break With a Win

Forest Grove, OR – The Oberlin College women's lacrosse team made it a perfect 3-0 journey through the great Northwest, finishing their spring break trip by downing Pacific University 11-4 on Friday afternoon.

Sydney Garvis and Maggie Mullard each recorded a hat trick, while Sara Phister and Suzanna Doak added two goals each.

The game was scoreless for nearly 15 minutes until Garvis got Oberlin on the board with her first of three tallies on the day.  Following a Boxers' score, the Oberlin first-year from Lexington, Virginia, would respond with a pair of goals to run her season total to 13. Kate Hanick assisted the second score of the group.

Pacific would strike again, cutting the lead down to 4-2, but Mullard and Doak would each find the back of the cage to make it a 6-2 Yeowomen advantage at the intermission.

The Duo would also kick off the scoring in the second half with Doak scoring first and Mullard following seven minutes later.

Grace Barlow would add her team-leading 24 goal of the year with the help of a Michaela Puterbaugh feed.

Later in the period, Mullard would cap her three-goal day and Phister would notch goals 15 and 16 on the season.

Alexa L'Insalata made 13 saves in 60 minutes of work in goal.

The Yeowomen, who have won five straight games, return home with a record of 7-1 with nothing but conference games left to play. They will resume the conference play on Wednesday at Ohio Wesleyan. The opening draw is set for 7 p.m.
