Newberg, Oregon – Grace Barlow scored five times to help lead the Oberlin College women's lacrosse team to an 11-8 win over George Fox on Thursday night.
The victory marked the fourth straight for the Yeowomen, who moved their record to 6-1 overall, while the Bruins dropped to 8-2.
Oberlin trailed 5-4 at the half, but outscored George Fox 7-3 in the second session.
Trailing 2-0 in the early going, the Yeowomen ripped off fourth straight scores with
Maggie Mullard getting barrage going with 22:19 left in the half.
Sara Phister would follow with her 14th goal of the year, while Barlow deposited back-to-back goals to put Oberlin in control.
However, three consecutive Bruins' goals would give them a 5-4 cushion at the break.
Less than a minute into the second half,
Kate Hanick's 12
th goal of the season would tie the game and
Suzanna Doak would later cap a string of four straight Yewomen goals to make it 9-6 Oberlin advantage.
Oberlin would later take an 11-7 lead on scores by
Marissa Maxfield and Doak, but their defense would buckle down as the Bruins did not find the back of the cage again until just 25 seconds remained.
Morgan Daruwala led the OC with five draws, while goalie
Alexa L'Insalata made 10 saves.
Oberlin will conclude its stay in the Northwest tomorrow afternoon when it battles Pacific at 2 p.m. EDT.
