Yeomen Conclude Road Schedule at DePauw

Greencastle, IN – The Oberlin College football team played its final road game of 2015, falling 53-0 to high-powered DePauw University Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Blackstock Stadium.

The Tigers scored three first-quarter touchdowns and never looked back. They led 26-0 at the half and then scored touchdowns on their first four possessions of the second half to leave no doubt in the eventual outcome.

Oberlin netted 201 yards of offense while the Tigers totaled 598 yards on 81 plays.

Lucas Poggiali was 13-of-34 passing for 147 yards, while sophomore Khalil Rivers was the top ground gainer with 40 yards on seven attempts. Justin Cruz led the receiving core with 43 yards, while Jabari Clemons added 40 to go along with 99 yards on kick returns.

Seven of the Tigers' eight scoring drives were nine plays or less. NCAC Player of the Year candidate Matt Hunt was 14-of-17 passing for 208 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 61 yards on the ground.

The Yeomen had no answer for tight end Tyler Leising as he caught five balls for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Oberlin hindered its own cause throughout the game with numerous dropped passes and missed tackles.

The Yeomen, who are now 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the NCAC, will close out their season next Saturday against Hiram College. Kick-off from the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex is set for 1 p.m.
