Richmond, IN – The Oberlin College men's basketball team used a big second half to defeat the Earlham College Quakers 86-55 on Sunday afternoon.
The Yeomen outscored the Quakers 46-21 in the second session, quickly expanding on their six-point half-time lead and never looking back.
Jack Poyle scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second half and also added seven assists and six rebounds.

Randy Ollie finished 7-of-8 from the floor, earning his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Rookie
Eli Silverman-Lloyd was also an efficient 6-of-8 shooting, resetting his career-high at 14 points.
The Yeomen raced out to a 20-7 lead 6:30 into the game, but the Quakers continued to fight as they chipped away at the Oberlin advantage. Earlham shrunk the gap down to 36-32 with just under two minutes left in the half and the Yeomen ultimately held just a 40-34 lead at the intermission.
Oberlin started the second stanza on a 12-0 run that featured eight points from Poyle to open up a 53-34 lead at the 16-minute mark. The barrage continued as the Yeomen run increased to 23-4 to take a 25-point lead at 63-38 with 12:31 left in the game.
With the win Oberlin moved to 4-2 on the season and completed their four-game road swing at 2-2. The Yeomen won just two road contests all of last season.
Taylen Alexander was the lone Quaker in double figures as he finished with 14 points.
Oberlin shot the ball well, hitting 31-of-53 attempts for a 58.5-percent clip, which included an impressive 11-of-21 (52.4%) showing from beyond the arc. The Yeomen entered shooting just 64.5-percent (100-of-155) at the free throw line, but were much better on this day, connecting on 13-of-14 freebies for a 92.9-percent success rate.
Oberlin had a 44-24 advantage on the glass and out-scored Earlham (0-2) 34-14 in the paint.
The Yeomen return home to host Kenyon College on Wednesday night. Tip-time from Philips Gym is set for 7:30 p.m.
