Yeowomen Go Down in Straight Sets at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Oberlin College volleyball rolled into DePauw University to take on the always-dangerous Tigers. The Yeowomen struggled to find rhythm offensively, falling 3-0.

Offensive woes plagued the Oberlin women as they looked to rebound from a straight set loss against Hiram. The Tigers finished with a team hitting percentage of .202 compared to Oberlin's -.011, to finish off the Yeowomen in straight sets, (25-13, 25-17, 25-10).

Junior and last week's North Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week, Jillian Hostetler and second-year Dana Thomas led the way offensively with five kills each. Sophomore Claudia Scott was the third greatest contributor with four kills in Greencastle.

Junior Meredith Leung served up 16 assists, while libero Molly Powers led the defensive effort finishing with 14 digs. Leung finished close behind with nine.

The Yeowomen return to the court on Wednesday, October 6 when they take on non-conference rival, Case Western Reserve University. The first serve from Cleveland, Ohio between the Spartans and Yeowomen is set to go up at 7 p.m.
