Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's basketball team completed the season sweep of Kenyon College, earning a 59-46 win over the Ladies on Wednesday night at Philips Gym.

Christina Marquette led the Yeowomen attack with 20 points to go along with a season-high 18-rebounds. With the performance, The Huntington Beach, California, native became just the second player in school history to reach 1,600 career points as she now has 1,601, trailing all-time scoring leader Nzinga Broussard (1999-2002) by 92 points.
Caroline Hamilton continued to be vital off the Oberlin bench, dropping in a season-high 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting to mark her third straight game in double figures.
Lindsey Bernhardt also notched 11 points, doing most of her work at the free throw line where she was 6-for-6.
The Yeowomen got off to an extremely slow start, missing 11 of their first 12 shots, which allowed the Ladies to open up a 15-5 lead. A Hamilton 3-pointer at the 10:28 mark jump-started the Yeowomen and
Anna Moore would later follow with a layup and block at the other end to inject some life into Oberlin.
A Marquette triple-hit with 8:11 remaining in the stanza would put Oberlin out in front for the first time at 16-15 and they would never trail from that point on. The Yeowomen held a 21-19 edge with 5:36 left and would close the frame on an 8-0 spurt to take a 29-19 lead into the intermission.
Early in the second half the Yeowomen would increase their lead to 15, 40-25, following a layup from Marquette. Oberlin's largest margin of the night came at the 9:05 mark as Hamilton cashed in a pair of free throws to take a 47-28 advantage.
Oberlin shot just 30.5-percent (18-of-59) from the floor, but benefitted from a strong performance at the charity stripe where they were 19-of-22 for an 86.4-percent clip. The Ladies checked in at 32.3-percent (21-of-65) shooting, but shot just five free throws – making two.
Oberlin has now won three in a row and six of its last seven to run its overall mark to 11-8 and NCAC record to 7-3. Kenyon dropped to 6-12 and 4-6 in the league.
The Yeowomen will have their toughest test of season this Saturday when they travel to the 11
th-ranked Tigers of DePauw. Tip-time is set for 1 p.m.
