Chicago, IL – Five Yeowomen finished in double-figures as the Oberlin College women's basketball team dominated the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks, 95-35, to earn their first victory of the New Year.

Christina Marquette registered double-digit scoring performances to propel the Yeowomen to an astounding 60-point margin of victory.
Andrews led the slue of Oberlin ladies with a season-high 15 points as well as a team-high seven rebounds, and two assists, off the bench.
Lucaites, who also came off the bench, finished with 14 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field to accompany her five rebounds and two assists.
Following subpar shooting performances at Kalamazoo just three days ago, the trio of Marquette, Hamilton and Bernhardt rebounded against the Scarlet Hawks to help the Yeowomen set a season-high with 95 points.
After her worst shooting performance on the year, Marquette hit for 12 points against the Scarlet Hawks and finished with five rebounds and two assists. Hamilton registered 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting, while Bernhardt went 4-of-10 from the field and 2-of-6 from three-point range to finish with 10 points in Chicago.
Oberlin opened the game with a 10-0 run, only to extend their gap to 18-5 with a jumper from Marquette. In the opening eight minutes, Marquette and first year
Anna Moore combined for 12 of the Yeowomen's 18 points.
A 7-point run from the Scarlet Hawks ended with a Bernhardt jumper to maintain the Oberlin advantage, 20-12, with 8:53 left in the first stanza.
With the Yeowomen leading by eight, the two sides traded buckets in the following possessions, until a Hamilton jumper extended the Oberlin ladies ahead by double-digits, 27-17, at the 6:09 mark.

As the halftime buzzer sound, sophomore
Connie Estevez knocked down a long 3-point jumper to cap off a 13-4 Oberlin run. Estevez finished with nine points, four rebounds and one assist.
The Yeowomen took a 47-23 lead into the half and stayed red hot in the second frame.
Oberlin leaped to a 49-point advantage by gouging the Scarlet Hawks with a 27-2 scoring run in the first nine minutes of the half. Trailing 74-25, the Scarlet Hawks couldn't find an answer for the Yeowomen's high-powered offense.
Head Coach Kerry Jenkin's crew closed out the contest by out-scoring the Scarlet Hawks 48-12 in the second half to record one of the largest margins of victory in school history.
The triumph in Chicago moves the Oberlin women to 5-6 overall and back to .500 in non-conference play at 4-4. The Yeowomen will remain in the Windy City to battle the University of Chicago on January 4.
