Oberlin, Ohio – Senior
Christina Marquette scored a season-high 33 points to lead a foursome of Yeowomen in double figures as Oberlin downed Wooster 89-67 on Wednesday night at Philips Gym.
Playing on their home floor for the first time in over a month, the Yeowomen certainly enjoyed being back at their friendly confines as they shot 52.4-percent (33-of-63) from the floor and went a perfect 16-of-16 at the free throw line.
Marquette tied a career-high with 12 field goal makes on 23 shots while also cashing in seven free throws. The Huntington Beach, California, native also got her teammates involved as she finished one assist shy of matching a career-best with seven helpers on the night.

Anna Moore stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points to go along with career-highs in rebounds (9) and blocks (7). Junior
Caroline Hamilton completed the foursome of Yeowomen in double figures as she added 11 points off the bench.
The game was nip-and-tuck in the early going as Oberlin held a slight 20-16 advantage midway through the first half. However, a 12-2 Yeowomen outburst that featured six points from Hamilton opened up a 32-18 margin with 4:38 left in the frame. Unfortunately, the Scots were able to halt the streak and shrink the gap back down to six, 36-30, at the intermission.
Wooster continued its momentum to start the second half, tying the game four times, and even briefly taking a 42-40 lead during the first five minutes of the period.
After trailing 44-43, Oberlin returned to form, using a 14-0 surge over a four-minute span to retake control of the game. From that point on the Scots would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way with Oberlin claiming its first 20-point lead at 77-56 on a Hamilton triple-hit with 4:56 to go.
With the win the Yeowomen moved to 8-7 overall and now rest at 4-2 in the NCAC. Wooster fell to 1-14 and 0-6 in league action.
Oberlin will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Wittenberg University. Tip-time is set for 2 p.m.
