Track and Field Athletes Compete at Denison

Granville, Ohio- Members of the Oberlin College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Denison University on Friday to compete in the DU Last Chance Meet.

For the Yeowomen, junior Marissa Clardy took second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.43. First-year Amethyst Carey and senior Jasmine Owens finished the 60-meter dash two-three at 8.26 and 8.31, respectively. Sophomore Ashley Parrish took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.53

Junior Jimmy Taylor and senior Daniel Johnson took fourth and fifth for the Yeomen in the one-mile run, crossing at 4:30.20 and 4:31.68, respectively.

On the field side for the Yeowomen, Carey earned second place with a throw on 36-11.00 in the shot put. Sophomore Margaret Miller placed second in the long jump with a jump of 15-04.00, while Owens took second in the triple jump with a distance of 33-05.75.

In the field events, freshman Nathan Danko placed second in the pole vault by clearing a height of 13-05.25, as sophomore Evan Finch won the triple jump with a distance of 40-08.25.

Action for the men's and women's track teams continues on February 23 when they travel to the College of Wooster for the NCAC Indoor Combined Events Championships. Events are set to begin at 1 p.m.
