Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's and women's track and field teams had a strong day on Friday afternoon at the University of Findlay Open.
Junior
Molly Martorella led the Yeowomen by winning the one-mile run with a time of 5:00.20, while senior
Hannah Wolfe finished in seventh place in the 3000-meter run with a personal-best time of 10:58.02.
In field events, first-year
Caroline Summa took fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-02.25, and sophomore
Tiffany Henry placed tenth in the shot put with a throw of 38-04.00.
On the men's side, sophomore
Jerry Choi turned in an eleventh place 200-meter dash time of 23.74. The Yeomen had a strong showing in the one-mile run with three runners placed in the top-15 finishers. Sophomore
Leo Harrington led Oberlin with a sixth-place finish and a time of 4:30.81, as freshman
Robert Moreton and senior
Daniel Johnson took eleventh and fourteenth crossing the finish at 4:34.84 and 4:40.21, respectively.
Up next for Oberlin is the All-Ohio Championships on February 9.
"We are looking forward to next weekend at All-Ohio," head coach
Ray Appenheimer said. "It should be a great meet for us."
Events at the All-Ohio meet are set to begin at 11 a.m. at Otterbein University.
