Delaware, Ohio – Making his first-ever appearance at nationals, junior Stephen Williams finished 14th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:21.16.

The timestamp was slightly larger than his school and-NCAC record time of 9:12.31 that he set earlier this month at the NCAC Championships.

“I thought Stephen did great today as he ran a very sound race with a clear mind,” Head Coach Ray Appenheimer said. “I am extremely proud of all he was able to accomplish this year.”

Kent Pecora of Dickison won the even in 8:51.85

Joanna Johnson will conclude Oberlin's participation at the championships when she runs in the 5K tomorrow afternoon.
