Gambier, Ohio – The Oberlin College track and field teams concluded their busy weekend on Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships at Kenyon College.
Highlighting the Yeomen effort was senior
Ben Schild as he checked in second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:14.01.
One day after breaking the school record in the weight throw, senior
Josh Gallagher followed with a toss of 49-07.75 in the shot put to place fourth overall.
As team the Yeomen placed 12th with 18 total points.
The Yeowomen had three point producers in the 400-meter dash with
Sybil Levine leading the trio by placing third overall with a mark of 59.64.
Marissa Clardy followed in sixth place at 1:00.71, while
Amanda Miller was eighth at 1:02.50.
Oberlin's impressive relay unit continued to shine as well as the tandem of Levine,
Laura Vernon, Miller and Clardy combined to set a new school record in the 4x400 meter relay with a mark of 4:04.39 to place third overall.
In the 4x200 meter relay
Sophia Brancazio ran the lead off leg and was followed by the familiar trio of Vernon, Miller and Clardy. The clique flew through the course in 1:49.23 to place fourth in the event. (See Video of the race

Vernon also racked up five team points by covering 10-08 in the pole vault. (See Video Above) As a team Oberlin finished in seventh place with 31 points.
Oberlin returns to action on Friday night at the Baldwin-Wallace College Mid-February Invite.
