Track & Field Takes On Thiel

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College track and field teams hosted Thiel College on Friday night in a non-team scored event at the John W. Heisman Field House.

Freshman Quinn Hull made an impressive collegiate debut by winning the mile in 4:40.05. The Blacksburg, Virginia, native also ran the second leg of the winning 4x400 meter relay team. He was joined by Reshard El-Shair who led things off while Peter Morris and Shawn Chrapczynski followed Hull by running the final 200 meters.

In the field events Alexander Guo claimed the top spot in the triple jump by covering 42-11.50. Senior Josh Gallagher dominated the shot-put field with a toss of 49-00.75.

On the women's end the Yeowomen took the top four spots in the 300-meter dash with Marissa Clardy leading the way at 43.68. OC also had the top four finishers in the mile with senior Joanna Johnson guiding the pack at 5:37.16.

Naomi Onsongo added another Oberlin win the 55-meter dash with a mark of 8.13.

The Yeomen and Yeowomen will be back in action on January 22 at the Case Western Spartan Relays.
