Clara Shaw improved upon her NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 800 meters to highlight the Oberlin effort at the Gator Invite on Friday evening.
Shaw, a native of Roseville, Minnesota, finished third in the event with a time of 2:14.51 – shaving off some valuable tenths from her NCAC meet record time of 2:14.87.
In the 400 meters rookie
Marissa Clardy checked in fourth at 58.53, while teammate
Amanda Miller placed sixth at 58.70.
For the Yeomen, sophomore
Stephen Williams registered a third-place effort in the steeplechase by completing the course in 9:35.88.
The Oberlin track and field teams will have one final chance to better their marks at next week's Gregory Invite on the campus of North Central College.
