Against Case Western Reserve freshman David Bright found the first men's victory of the day by besting the field in the men's 100 breast. He was the only swimmer in the pool to finish in under a minute, hitting the wall at 59.51. Heading into the weekend, Bright's time stands as a top 20 time nationally.

Bright came through again for the Yeomen in the 200-yard breast with a second-place time of 2:15.74. He shaved his seedtime down by over three seconds.
