Hannah Burandt

Hannah Burandt enters her first season back with the Oberlin College swim & dive teams in 2025-26 after returning in September 2025 on a part-time basis and getting promoted to Associate Head Coach in March 2026. 

Burandt returns to Oberlin after bringing over 14 years of coaching experience across Division I and Division III. Most recently, Burandt served as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Cleveland State for five years, capping her tenure as the Horizon League Men’s Coach of the Year in 2024. During her time with the Vikings, she also coached three Olympic Trial individual qualifiers and a two-time Irish National Champion. 


Before Cleveland State, Burandt was the Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Houston for four years, leading the Cougars to three American Athletic Conference titles, back-to-back NCAA qualifiers, and two Olympic Trial individual qualifiers. The Parma native has also coached at Georgetown and the University of Louisville after getting her coaching start at Oberlin from 2011-2013.


Burandt also brings a plethora of experience directing and coaching swim camps. Founding Burandt Aquatics, LLC in 2023, Burandt oversees the operations of camps, clinics, and the creation of a U.S. Masters Swimming team. 

A four-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion and Mid-Major All-America Honorable Mention, Burandt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan with her bachelor’s degree in secondary math and health education, helping the Eagles to their first two MAC Championship titles in 2006 and 2007. Burandt later earned her master’s in sport administration from the University of Louisville in 2018.Â
