Christine Varga

Christine Varga enters her first year as the Director of Campus Recreation after joining the Crimson and Gold in April 2026. 

Varga comes to Oberlin after spending the past 30 years at Baldwin Wallace. Serving as the Associate Director of Campus Recreation for over 28 years, oversaw BW’s club sports and intramurals, outdoor adventure programs, and Youth Adventure Sport Camp. This past year, Varga served as the Program Coordinator for the Community Arts School at Baldwin Wallace, overseeing the operations of all summer art programs and managing 70 faculty instructors and over 50 student counselors. 

In addition to her duties at Baldwin Wallace, Varga has been the Growth and Development Director for the National Collegiate Rugby since 2021, managing the logistics for national tournaments, overseeing grant programs, and executing marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and membership development. 

Varga founded Inner Drive Adventures, LLC, and has served as the Program Director and Executive Coach for nine years, an outdoor adventure company that offers leadership programming, team building, and skill development for families and groups. 

Varga is also a CPR Professional Rescue Instructor for the Cleveland Browns, certifying Cleveland Browns professional staff members in American Red Cross CPR. 

Varga earned her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine with a minor in fitness management from Baldwin Wallace and is currently pursuing her MBA in sports management from her alma mater.
