Amir Kettani is in his third year as the Oberlin College Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach/Goalkeeper Coach in 2024. In his current role, Kettani designs and leads goalkeeper-specific training sessions throughout the season and is actively involved in both domestic and international recruiting.
Before joining Oberlin, Kettani served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Lakeland Community College, where he led the program to its first regional tournament appearance in two decades and a peak national ranking of 14th. Under his leadership, the team produced three All-Americans, maintained a GPA above 3.0, and sent multiple players to NCAA programs. He also coached at Saint Ignatius High School during their 2020 state championship run, working with top-tier talent including All-American Patrick McLaughlin.
Kettani spent several seasons as the Head Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach at Cleveland State University. During his tenure, CSU reached the Horizon League semifinals three times, led the conference in defensive metrics, and developed standout goalkeepers who ranked among the best in Division I. He coached future professional players including Josh Williams (Columbus Crew) and Sergio Manesio (Ottawa Fury).
Outside of collegiate coaching, Kettani contributed to the Cleveland Internationals Developmental Academy, working with youth goalkeepers including Charlie Horton (Leeds United). He has trained three goalkeepers with MLS experience: Evan Bush, Charlie Horton, and Brad Stuver. He has also worked with elite coaches such as Alan Kelly (Republic of Ireland National Team) and Dan Gaspar (Portugal, Iran National Teams).
Kettani played at Ashland University and Cleveland State, where he was a two-time letterwinner and First-Team All-Horizon League goalkeeper. He still ranks in the top ten in career saves at CSU. In addition to coaching, he serves as Vice President of MK Industries and is a member of the Cleveland State University Athletics Board. Kettani resides in Lakewood, Ohio, with his wife Paige and their two children, Ava and Holden.
