Stephany Dunmyer

Stephany Dunmyer enters her seventh season as the head women's basketball coach at Oberlin College in 2025-26, after leading the Crimson and Gold to one of the most successful three-year runs in program history during the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 campaigns.

Guiding Oberlin to a 21-4 overall record and 13-3 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in 2021-22, the Crimson and Gold tied the program record for overall wins and conference wins in a season while earning the No. 2 seed for the NCAC Tournament, marking the highest seed in program history. The following season, the Crimson and Gold delivered a runner-up finish in the NCAC Tournament after finishing 17-11 overall and 8-6 in the NCAC. During Dunmyer’s tenure at Oberlin, the Crimson and Gold have recorded 12 All-NCAC honorees as well as the 2022 NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Performing well in the classroom, Oberlin has tallied 31 NCAC All-Academic recipients and seven College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections. 

Prior to Oberlin, Dunmyer spent 16 seasons as the head coach at Virginia Wesleyan University, compiling a 250-181 record. A three-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coach of the Year (2006, 2008, 2012), Dunmyer coached 24 All-ODAC players and led the Marlins to two ODAC regular season titles. Securing the ODAC Championship title in 2015, Dunmyer led Virginia Wesleyan to an NCAA First-Round appearance. Before her time at Virginia Wesleyan, Dunmyer held coaching stops at Indiana State University (2002-2003) and Ashland University (2000-2002). 

A standout player at Kenyon College, Dunmyer produced 1,555 points during her career, helping the Owls (previously Ladies) win two NCAC Championships. Dunmyer was the 2000 NCAC Player of the Year, a three-time All-NCAC selection, and one of ten players named to the NCAC Women’s Basketball 20th Anniversary Team. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kenyon in 2000, Dunmyer was a graduate assistant coach at Ashland University for two seasons while pursuing a master's of education in sport education. Following her successful playing career, Dunmyer was inducted into the Kenyon College Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
