Kerry Jenkins

Kerry Jenkins enters his 11th season as the head women’s basketball coach at Oberlin College in 2018-19.

The 2017-18 season was one for the record books under Jenkins as led the Yeowomen to their first North Coast Athletic Conference championship and the school's first-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament.
 
The winningest coach in program history, Jenkins made the Yeowomen a consistent force within the North Coast Athletic Conference. The 2015 and 2018 NCAC Coach of the Year, Jenkins guided the Yeowomen to double-digit wins in each of the last four seasons, including a school-record 21 wins in 2017-18.

  • Coached Olivia Canning '19 to  NCAC Defensive Player od the Year honors (2017-18)
  • In 2016-17 led the Yeowomen to their first first NCAC Tournament game victory since 1999.
  • The 2016-17 team led the nation in blocks (203) and blocks per game (7.5)
  • Mentored NCAC Second-Team Selections Olivia Canning and Abby Andrews
  • In 2014-15, led Oberlin to its first home NCAC playoff game since 1990 as the team qualified fourth after going 10-6 in league play – setting a school-best NCAC mark
  • Mentored all-time leading scorer and rebounder Christina Marquette (2012-2015)
  • Coached three of the program's 1,000-point scorers
  • Led the Yeowomen to a 63-61 win over No. 25 Baldwin Wallace (Nov. 24, 2015)
  • Coached NCAC Newecomer’s of the Year Allison Anderson (2008) and Christina Marquette (2012)
  • Established a new culture of success within the program while recruiting some of the best student-athletes in Yeowomen basketball history
  • Mentored numerous All-NCAC selections
  • Prior to Oberlin was the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Vermont University for three seasons (2006-2008), helping the Catamounts to 43 victories over his last two seasons on staff
  • Assistant Coach at Yale University from 2001-2005 where ee was responsible for developing post players while also serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator
  • Also coached at Tallahassee Community College (2000-2001), where he helped guide the team to a school record in wins (28-8 overall) and a third-place finish in the National Community College Tournament, the first appearance in the national tournament in the program’s history
  • A graduate of Amherst College (MA), Jenkins was a football player of the Lord Jeffs
  • Earned a master’s degree in physical education and sports administration from Florida State University in 2001.
