Abigail Yunker enters her second year on the sideline with the Oberlin College women’s basketball team in 2026-27 after joining the program in June 2025.
In her first season on staff, Yunker helped the Crimson and Gold qualify for the 2026 NCAC Tournament. In May 2026, she and head coach Stephany Dunmyer were selected to attend the WeCOACH Academy, part of the 56th class of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy, in Denver.
Yunker came to Oberlin after playing professional basketball for the Cardiff Met Archers in Super League Basketball. In one of the top basketball leagues in the United Kingdom, Yunker continued to dominate the court, averaging 9.6 points, 3.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. She led the Archers in assists in her final season after finishing in the top two the year before, and she also finished in the top eight in the league for steals.
Beyond her playing career, Yunker spent three years as both a head coach and camp director for U18 basketball in the Cardiff area.
An Ohio native, Yunker is more than familiar with the North Coast, having played five years for the Wittenberg Tigers. An offensive threat on the court, Yunker started all but two games in her final three years. The guard averaged 9.1 points per game and helped lead the Tigers to the NCAC title game in three of their four tournament appearances. Yunker capped her career with a nod on the 2022 NCAC All-Tournament team after leading the Tigers to a victory in the NCAC Championship, Wittenberg’s first conference tournament crown in six years.
Yunker graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wittenberg in 2022 before completing her master’s in sport coaching from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2025.
