Lindsay Mapes

Lindsay Mapes joined the Yeowomen Softball coaching staff in Summer 2021.

Prior to Oberlin, Mapes served as the assistant coach at Carnegie Mellon University where she helped the Tartans win 23 games over the shortened 2020 and 2021 seasons, assisting with recruiting and program administration.

Mapes, who also served as a COVID-19 support associate at CMU, spent two seasons (2017-19) as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Findlay where she organized the team's pitching workouts and drills while also improving the staff's mental mindset, which led to the Oilers having just a 2.58 team ERA in her first season.

As a pitcher at NCAA Division II Adelphi University, Mapes earned 69 career wins inside the circle while setting a new school record with over 793 innings pitched. A four-year member of the Dean's List, she was a two-time NE10 all-conference selection and a Daktronics All-East Region Second-Team honoree in 2015. She departed the program with 562 career strikeouts.

Mapes, the sister of Oberlin's single-season hits leader in baseball, Brendan '19 (63), graduated from Adelphi with a degree in communications in 2017 before earning a master's in writing and rhetoric from Findlay in 2020.
