(2010): Following a preseason hand injury he made the move from third base to the mound where he made 11 appearances - good for third best on the team - including three starts … Finished fifth on the team with 25.1 innings pitched giving up 23 earned runs while finishing fourth with an 8.17 earned run average … Tied for third on the team with 16 strikeouts … Made first career start on the mound against Hamline University (3/29/10) pitching 4.1 innings giving up four hits, three runs, two earned, while striking out two and walking two … Did hit in one game against Williams College (4/1/10) while getting the start behind the plate, going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.
(2009): As a sophomore.... Ryan played in 33 games and made 31 starts at third base. Ryan hit .305, had 82 at bats, 4 doubles, and 9 R.B.I.'s.
Prior to Oberlin: Ryan is a 2007 graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School. At St. John's, Ryan was a three-year letter winner and two-year starter for the baseball team. Ryan was a two time Honorable Mention All-City League. In the classroom, Ryan was a four time Summa Cum Laude, All-Academic Team Senior Year, and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.
Ryan enjoys playing intramural basketball, coaching, and practicing baseball with younger kids in the off-season. Ryan tutors fifth graders in Mathematics at Prospect Elementary School in Oberlin, Ohio.
Ryan was born on October 12, 1988 and is the son of Ed and Beth Mouch. Ryan is a double major in History and Engineering. Ryan would like to attend graduate school, teach, and coach one day. Ryan's summer team, the Ohio Monarchs won the NABF World Series in 2008.
