Tyler Schuch

Tyler Schuch enters his third season as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Oberlin College baseball team in 2025.

In his first year working with the Yeomen pitchers, he lowered the team ERA by over two points from the previous season and saw a 30 point improvement in batting average against.

The 2024 season saw consistency from Schuch's staff, with the unit nearly replicating their overall ERA and WHIP statistics from the 2023 season. Schuch also produced two College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees in 2024, with the unit's ace Jay Aghanya and 2023 honoree Liam Rose receiving honors for the 2024 season.

Prior to Oberlin, served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Allegheny College, helping the Gators record 39 total wins, including a 24-15 mark in 2022.

A two-way player at the College of Wooster, Schuch helped the Scots secure two North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. Following graduation, he spent two seasons (2018-19) on the Scots' coaching staff where he aided in two more conference crowns and a trip to the NCAA Division III College World Series.

On the mound, Schuch went 16-5 over 35 career appearances and 25 starts with the Scots, striking out 74 over 140.1 innings. In his junior and senior years, he combined to go 14-2 while posting a 3.87 ERA. At the plate, he produced 43 career hits in 151 at-bats with 14 doubles.

Schuch, who went to Triway High School in Wooster, has also coached travel baseball in the summer in the Ohio Elite organization.
