Club Sports Report - March 4, 2019
Ice Hockey
Last weekend was the 15th Annual Oberlin Ice Hockey Alumni Game Weekend. Although bad weather prevented four alumni from Missouri and Tennessee from attending, fourteen alumni returned with both coasts represented. The home and away teams were a mix of alumni and Plague players. Saturday's hard-fought game ended in a 4 to 4 tie. Nathan Taubkin '21 led the home team with two goals, two assists; followed by Daniel Hill '21 with one goal, one assist; and William Johnston '77 with one goal, one assist. Jake Parentis '19 lead the away team with two goals, one assist; followed by John Fisch '80 with one goal, one assist; Elie Small '19 with one goal; and Yanni Sarrimanolis '22 with two assists. Sunday's game was close for the first two periods before the away team pulled away to win the game 8 to 3. Yanni Sarrimanolis lead the away team with three goals, four assists; followed by Jake Parentis with two goals, two assists; Derek Palinski '17 with two goals; Elie Small with one goal; and Daniel Kane '07 one assist; and John Fisch with one assist.
Seniors and captains Jake Parentis and Elie Small were honored at Saturday's pizza dinner in the Skybar. Our final gathering was for Sunday lunch at Black River restaurant. A list of returning alums is included below and Sunday's pre-game photo is included on the next page.
