Kahn Track & Shults Field

Kahn Track & Shults Field

Training and competition in track, soccer, and lacrosse take place at the newest competition field at Oberlin College.  Robert Kahn Track and Fred Shults Field opened in the fall 2006 sports season, and was officially dedicated in April 2008. The soccer and lacrosse field is named for longtime Oberlin coach and alumnus Fred Shults '54.  The field is a natural grass surface with Kentucky Blue Grass and perennial rye.  The track is a product of Beynon Sports Surfaces and is the home to Yeoman and Yeowomen track & Field and is also open to members of the College and Oberlin community for recreational use.  The Beynon track is a poured urethane surface and is widely considered one of the top competition surfaces in the area.

Positioned between a beautiful tree line to the west and Williams Field House to the east, Kahn Track & Shults Field has been the host to a variety of high school and college competitions.  Ohio high schools such as, Oberlin, Benedictine, Toledo Central Catholic and Wellington have all participated in competitions on Shults Field.
