The Crimson and Gold jumped out to an early lead in their first game after Singh stole second and third, then came home on a Connor Fogarty single down the right line. Up 1-0, Oberlin held the Chargers off the board in the next two innings, while extending their lead to 2-0.
In the bottom of the third, Union broke free and tied the game on a pair of RBIs. Oberlin responded in the bottom half of the frame with a sacrifice fly ball from Aoife Shen to score Sniffen. With two outs, Maya Means scored on a passed ball before Alspach grounded out to end the inning.
The Chargers added another run in the fourth, then took the lead with three runs in the fifth inning. Down 6-4, Shen and Sniffen got on base and in scoring position. Kailey Dunham pinched for Alspach, but came up short to score the rookies.
Oberlin was unable to convert in their remaining two innings, falling to Union 7-4.

The Mules came out swinging in the opening frame, scoring early on a sacrifice fly. Colby scored again in the second inning, with a line drive double. After Colby went up 3-0 in the third, the Crimson and Gold finally found some offensive momentum. One out, Carlson recorded a single on a line drive to left field. O'Connor doubled to the centerfield fence on the next at-bat. Looking to score on the hit, Carlson sprinted home but was caught short of scoring.
After a long spring break trip, Oberlin struggled to regain their footing and gave up another ten runs in the sixth inning, to end the game at 14-0.
