Geneva, Ohio – Opening day one of the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Oberlin College track and field seniors

Walter Moak competed in prelim competitions.
In the evening, Fuller competed in the third heat of the 400m hurdles prelims. Seeded 22
nd, the Chicago native burst out of the starting blocks against the wind for the one-lap sprint. Finishing in 54.60, Fuller came shy of his school record of 52.74, but beat out his seed for a 18
th overall finish.
An hour later, classmate Moak took the starting line for the 3000m Steeplechase prelims. Running in the second heat with the top of the pack, Moak paced in second for the middle chunk of the race. Speeding up to a blistering 1:05.13 for the final lap, Moak clinched silver and a spot in the NCAA finals. With a fourth-overall finish and a time of 8:59.56, this marks just the fifth time the Virginia native ran the 3k SC in under nine minutes.
While Fuller has completed his final race, Moak will compete again for the national title tomorrow, Friday, May 23, at 4:40 p.m.
