Gambier, Ohio – In the ever tall task of taking on a national powerhouse, the Oberlin College women's tennis team battled #19 Kenyon to a 7–0 loss.
 
Kenyon got off to a strong start in doubles action, dropping three games across three matches. Fourth-year Anna Pastore and first-year Hannah Soong fell 6–0 to Eleni Lazaridou and Hana Nouaime, while second-years Rachel Allen and Freya Rahm had a similar fate in a 6–0 loss to No. 2 duo Shadia Amado Aguad and Clare Hudson. Oberlin's No. 3 pair, first-years Olivia Wollner and Scarlett Kingston, were able to battle in a closely contested match that saw Ana Brand and Lalasa Nagireddy pull away for a 6–3 win.
 
Singles play was another straightforward affair for the Owls. Lazaridou, one of the best players in the North Coast Athletic Conference, stormed past Pastore for a 6–2, 6–2 win in the No. 1 slot. Amado Agaud ramped up her level in the second set of a 6–3, 6–0 victory against Oberlin's No. 2 Allen.
 
Oberlin could amass only four total games in the No. 3 through No. 6 matches. Brand took down Rahm 6–0, 6–1; Hudson blanked Kingston 6–0, 6–0; Nouaime defeated Wollner 6–0, 6–1; and Ackermann sealed the sweep for the Owls with a 6–1, 6–1 win over Soong.
 
With the loss, Oberlin falls to 7–8 on the season and 3–2 in conference play. The Yeowomen will be back in action for their last regular season conference match of the season when they take on #26 Denison University on Friday at Oberlin's Hunsinger Courts.
