Oberlin, Ohio - The Oberlin College baseball team dropped both games at home against Wabash College on Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Yeomen lost 21-8, before falling again 12-7 in game two.
Freshman right-handed pitcher
Davis Hayes got the nod for the Yeomen in game one. The North Carolina native did not have his best stuff as the Little Giants roughed him up for 10 hits and seven earned runs in 2.2 innings.Â
Senior right-handed pitcher
Andrew Shen came on in relief of Hayes and battled his way through 4.1, surrendering five hits and five earned runs in the process.Â
At the dish for the Yeomen, rookie first-baseman
Kyle Baxt led the offensive attack. The Wellington, Florida, native collected three hits in game one, including his fourth home run of the year to go along with three RBI's, which came on one swing of the bat to make it a 10-6 game in the sixth. After trailing 10-1, the Yeomen would rally to within three as Zach Maskinoff followed Baxt's bomb with an RBI triple to make it 10-7 after six innings, but the Little Giants would score 11 runs over the final three innings to leave no doubt.
Adding on at the plate for the Yeomen were Freshmen. right-fielder

Ethan Hurwitz, sophomore catcher
Anton Shelton, first-year DH
Grayson Black, Masnikoff, and senior shortstop
Harry Kaplan as they all had multiple hits in the game.
Hurwitz blasted his team-leading fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh after Baxt had momentarily tied him for the team lead in the bottom of the fifth.Â
Leading off the game, history was made for the Yeomen when Groves ripped a triple into the right-center gap to set the all-time single season record for triples at six.Â

Zachary Ritts and senior southpaw
William Kennedy got the final six outs out of the pen for the Yeomen.Â
In game two, the Yeomen turned to sophomore left-handed pitcher
Liam Rose on the bump. The second-year came out firing, striking out the first three batters he faced in a one-two-three top of the first. The Little Giants did eventually get to Rose, knocking him out of the game after 4.1 innings and eight earned runs while striking out five.
Rookie
Micah Rodriguez finished the game off for the Yeoman out of the pen. The Simi Valley, California native went 4.2 innings, giving up six hits, four earned runs and striking out three.Â
At the plate in game two, the Yeoman tacked on 12 hits. Hurwitz, Baxt, sophomore second baseman
Alex Gaetano and Masnikoff all had multi-hit games.Â
The Yeomen's record now sits at 14-19, 3-9 in NCAC play. Wabash is now 17-17, 5-7 in NCAC.
The Yeomen are back in action at Dill Field tomorrow afternoon to play Ohio Northern University, first pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.Â
