Oberlin, Ohio - The season-opening weekend trip to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the Oberlin College softball team was thrown a wrench due to issues with field conditions at the Walnut Creek Sports Complex. 

The Yeowomen will now open the season on Friday, March 8, with a traditional doubleheader at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina, starting at 1 p.m. It will certainly be a tough challenge for Oberlin as the Falcons are currently ranked 20th in the nation at 10-0 on the season. 

With rain forecasted throughout the day on Saturday in Raleigh, no games are currently scheduled for that day.

However, Oberlin will play both William Peace University (11 a.m.) and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1p.m.) on Sunday on the campus of William Peace University.
