New Orleans - The Oberlin College men's and women's cross country teams were named All-Academic by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Thursday.
Additionally, student-athletes
Walter Moak and
Eliza Medearis earned individual All-Academic honors for their work in competition and in the classroom. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Overall, there were 194 NCAA Division III men's programs who earned the team prestige, while 233 women's teams received the recognition.
Both teams were well above the minimum GPA threshold of 3.1 to qualify for the team award as the men's team earned a 3.39 GPA this past fall with the women's team posting a 3.41.
