Westlake, Ohio - Oberlin College junior diver Winnie Wood was named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Wood helped the Oberlin College swimming and diving team to a double-dual victory over Mount Union and Wooster, which marked Oberlin's first-ever victory against the Scots in program history.

Wood also turned in a pair of firsts, as she bested four others to win the 1-meter diving event with 158.55 points and then topped two others to win the 3-meter with 150.82 points. The victories were the first of her career and helped Oberlin edge Wooster 149-148 and beat the Purple Raiders 173-114.

Wood is also believed to be the first female diver in program history to win NCAC Athlete of the Week honors.

She and the rest of the Oberlin College swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Saturday at nationally-ranked Denison. The Big Red currently rank fourth on the women's side and eighth on the men's end.
