Day Two of the NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships is in the Books

Granville, OH - The Oberlin College swimming and diving teams had another strong showing on day two of the NCAC Championships. 

The Oberlin women currently rest in fifth place with 299 points, while the Yeomen sit in sixth with 296. 

The evening was highlighted by another school record falling in the 200-yard free relay as the grouping of  Elisabeth Ragone, Hannah Hale, Isabel Pfaff, and Elinor Frost placed fifth in 1:38.25 to best their previous mark of 1:38.52. 

Hale led the Yeowomen's efforts in the 500-yard free, bringing home a 17th-place finish in 5:23.66. She was followed by teammates Lucy Lee (19th, 5:35.72) and Sophia Nicholson (22nd, 5:52.01). 

The Yeomen's performance in the 500 was spearheaded by Miguel Siwady, who touched in 11th with the third-best time in program history at 4:39.51. Myles Felt finished 16th in 4:52.42, and was followed by teammates Jack Stewart (22nd, 4:58.25), Finley Barber (26th, 5:04.16) and Julian Walls (27th, 5:05.31). 

In the 200-yard individual medley, the Yeowomen saw strong performances from Bella Sites (2:19.24),  Ava Schigur (2:20.47), and Audrey Weber (2:20.54) as they claimed spots 20-22. On the men's side of the event, Leo Powers led the Yeomen with a third-best time in program history with a mark of 1:55.85, taking home 11th place. Teammates Isaac Viviano (15th, 1:58.15) and Sam Blau (25th, 2:03.69) followed behind to add more points for the Yeomen. 

The 50-yard freestyle saw Ragone lead the Yeowomen's efforts, taking home 12th in 24.28, which was just one one-hundredth of a second behind her career-best time. She was followed by Ava Peyton who placed 14th in 24.41 to move into fourth on Oberlin's all-time top-times list, while Pfaff also cracked the school's top-10, placing 15th in 24.60 to move into sixth-best in school history.Frost finished in 16th (24.71) and improved her placing in the record books, bumping up to seventh. 

On the men's end of the event, Erik Fendorf ended in ninth place as he narrowly missed a school record in the 50-yard free, finishing ninth in 21.05, which is just four one-hundreths of a second off of Adam Winikoff's mark of 21.01 that he set in 2016. Teammate Daniel Bocsi took home 22nd place in a time of 21.86. 

Earlier in the day, Lucas Draper took home 11th place in the 1m diving event (242.30).

The night concluded with Fendorf, Felt, Powers, and Daniel Bocsi finishing in sixth place in the 200-yard free relay in 1:25.36, which is the third-fastest time in school history.
