Clare Tiedemann concluded her illustrious four-year career, setting a school record in the heptathlon with 4,424 points to place 14
th overall at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Tiedemann closed out her career with the final three events of the heptathlon on Friday, first placing third in the long jump with a clearance of 17-06.75 (5.35m) to tie for third in the event.
The New York City native didn't fare as well in the javelin, ending in 20
th place with a toss of 49-05 (15.08m).
Tiedemann, who rested in 16
th place after day one, closed two-spots higher by winning the 800-meters with a career-best time of 2:19.66 to add 828 points to her total.
Her point total erased the old school-record mark of 4,387 that was set by Amie Ely in 1999.
The NCAA Championships conclude tomorrow with Oberlin's
Malaïka Djungu-Sungu competing in the triple jump.
