Tiedemann Earns Second in NCAC Combined Events Competition

Oberlin, OH- After two days of competition, Clare Tiedemann finished in second place at the NCAC Combined Events Competition with 4,331 points in the heptathol and ten points for the team. Hayden Hill finished just behind her in fifth place with 3,279 points and two points for the team's total.

In the day's first event, the long jump, Tiedemann launched a season high distance of 4.70m. A personal best for the senior and team best for the season, Tiedemann earned first. The javelin throw came next in the line of events where Tiedemann and Hill finished sixth and seventh with throws of 55-05.00 (16.89m) and 36-05.00 (11.10m), respectively.

Tiedemann took first place in the 800m, the final event, with a time of 2:20.94 while Hill finished close in fifth with a time of 2:42.10. With her 4,331 points, Tiedemann finishes just 56 points shy of the school record. Adding to her success, the New York native moves up to #12 in the nation for heptathlon and #21 for long jump.
