Ashland, OH - The Oberlin Track and Field teams traveled to Ashland, OH for the Ashland Alumni Open while
Clare Tiedemann and
Hayden Hill competed at home in the NCAC Combined Events.
On the track in Ashland, the Yeomen and Year Women competed with programs from all three NCAA Divisions. Kary Wearing got the meet started with a 1:04.29 finish in the 400m dash before
Camila Ciembroniewicz ran a 2:28.13 in the 800m dash. Cimebroniewicz's run beat her previous best of 2:29.24. Running for the Yeomen in the 200m dash,
Reese Hyatt ran 23.49 with
Malaïka Djungu-Sungu sprinting 28.13 in the women's side of the event. Earning third in the men's 5000m run,
Garrett Erickson-Harris smashed his personal best with a time of 16:14.47.
Moving onto the field competition, Djungu-Sungu leaped 16-08.75 (5.10m) to finish among the top ten in the long jump. In the high jump,
Aislinn Cannistraro finished 8th overall in the high jump with the highest clearance of the season for the Yeowomen at 1.55m. Rounding out the day,
Nina Hoyt earned an 11th-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 31-01.75 (9.49m).
Sarah Voit was sixth in the pole vault, clearing 12-02.75 (3.73m).
In the NCAC Heptathlon at Oberlin, Tiedemann sits in third with 2,530 points while Hill rests in fifth with 2,264 points.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Tiedemann was third in 14.78 while Hill finished sixth in 17.82.
In the high jump, Hill took second with a mark of 5-01.75 (1.57m), while Tiedemann checked in fifth at 4-05.50 (1.36m).
The day rolled on with Hill heaving the shot put 28-01 (8.56m) to take third place in the seven-person field. However, it was Tiedemann who capped off day one with a second-place showing in the 200-meter dash in 26.40.
The heptathlon will conclude tomorrow with the long jump, javelin, and 800 meters.
