Oberlin, OH – The Oberlin College Track and Field teams took just a handful of athletes on road as they traveled down to central Ohio for the Denison Invitational on Friday.
In the field,
Shayla Keegan got the meet started for Oberlin with a second-place finish in the women's discus event. The 121-02 (36.93) throw crushes her previous personal best.
Iyanna Lewis followed that up with another finish for silver in the hammer throw with a score of 158-04 (48.27m). The Yeowomen continued to crush their competition as
Maggie Allen earned third in javelin before
Sydney Kulkarni took third in the pole vault event. Kulkarni tied her personal best after clearing a height of 3.05m.
The sole gold medal of the meet came from
Aesha Mokashi who crushed her pervious career record in the long jump event with a score of 17-01.25 (5.21m).
Just a trio of Obies competed in the track events led by
Lucy Curtis who ran a 1:04.66 in the women's 400M race.
Simon Lowe raced a 24.47 in the men's 200M before
Carolyn Smith capped the meet with a 27.84 run in the 200M counterpart.
The Crimson and Gold have a quick turnaround as they hit the road again to take part in the Ashland University Alumni Open tomorrow April 30.
