Game Recap: Softball |

Softball Swept by DePauw

Greencastle, IN- The Oberlin College softball team travelled to Indiana to open their conference schedule where they were ultimately swept by the DePauw. The Tigers won by run-rule in both games with scores of 10-1 and 11-3, respectively. The Yeowomen move to 6-10-1 overall and 0-2 in the NCAC.

Pitching the entirety of game one for Oberlin, Alaina Di Dio struggled against the talented bat of DePauw to fall to 2-3 on her personal record. Oberlin also struggled at the plate as only Cat Moruzzi could get the Yeowomen rolling with a double down the left field line to bring Mia Brito around the bases home. Brito and Di Dio were the only other Obies to record hits in the challenging game one.

Game two saw both Katie Austin and Calliope Lissak take the mound as they faced a similar fate to that of game one. The Yeowomen faired better in hitting against the game two Tigers as they lit up the fourth inning with a trio of runs. Kathryn Beeman started the Crimson and Gold off with a single to bring Haley Bartsch home before Lalli Lopez's hit moved the pinch runner, Caley Dunlop, to second. After Kyra Davis walked, Austin hit a single to bring Dunlop home before Slebonick did the same to bring Lopez to the dugout. DePauw shut Oberlin out of the remainder of the game for a final score of 11-3.

The Yeowomen look to bounce back from the losses in their next double header against non-conference opponent Rose-Hulman on Sunday, April 3. First pitch is set for 1pm with the second game following at 3pm. A live stream will be available here, with live stats available here.
