Box Score Oberlin, OH- The Oberlin College men's tennis team hosted cross-town rival and the nation's top-ranked team Case Western at home for a dual match on Friday evening. The Yeomen battled but ultimately fell to the Spartans, 9-0. The drop moves Oberlin to 3-9 on the season.
"It was a really gutsy effort by our guys today," head coach
Eric Ishida said. "I was happy with the way we competed and really challenged them in multiple spots."

Earning the No. 1 spot in the doubles competition,
James Dill and
Grant North fell to their competition in an 8-3 match.
Sebastien Naginski and
Ben Echikson finished next in the No. 3 place, losing their match 8-1.
Sean Billerbeck and
Rohan Gold battled a close competition but ended with a loss in the tie breaker, 8-7 (7-4).

Down 3-0 from doubles, the Yeomen continued to fight into the singles competition but both Billerbeck and Dill dropped their matches 6-1, 7-5 and 6-3, 6-4, respectively. Gold and Naginski followed up with losses in the No.3 and 4 spots before North and Echikson fell to their Spartan counterparts.
The Yeomen look to bounce back next week as they host an OAC opponent on Friday, April 1. Oberlin faces off with Otterbein in the Heisman Fieldhouse beginning at 5 p.m.
